Privacy Risks in Data Collection and Unathorized Access

There are many risks associated with collecting and storing your personal information online. To understand what they are can help you look out for them and prevent it from happening to you. One of the main things to worry about is business collecting, using, and selling your personal information that could leave you vulnerable to consequences that affect your everyday life. The United States does not have laws that prevent the selling, using, or collecting personal information, allowing anyone to be able to handle your information. Businesses do this to benefit themselves but the consumer could be unaware that this is happening to them or have no way to prevent it. It gathers personal data, tracks online behavior, and monitors consumers' locations and activities for the business to use that raises concerns related to consumer privacy and protection. Some organizations realized how to protect users data, some ways are limiting the data collected. They only collect the data that is needed for making the user experience pleasurable and nothing more. But they also store it and put it in a safe place so that it is not accessible to just anyone. A way to further this is by encrypting the information so that it is harder for people to be able to gain the information. These are things that users have to worry about but there are some things in place that help protect users as well. An example of this would be websites asking you questions to find your interest and making your homepage involved around your answer. They ask for the bare minimum to make it pleasurable for you and not ask more than needed.
